Tradition tells us that St. Blaise was a doctor before becoming a bishop. He is said to have cured a young boy who was choking, and because of this, he has become the patron saint of those who are ill with diseases of the throat. For this feast, a blessing of throats will be offered during our regular Thursday Mass time.
