Lord, Teach Us to Pray: The Life of Prayer for Catholic Young Adults

  • 4700 SW Dash Point Rd Federal Way, WA (map)

“Lord, Teach us to Pray: The Life of Prayer for Catholic Young Adults”

Note: This retreat is for young adults ages 20-35.

St. Therese of Lisieux called prayer "a surge of the heart."  In the Christian tradition, prayer is a conversation with the Beloved and the foundation of friendship with God, which begins in the deepest part of our souls. This retreat will focus on the life of prayer for the young adult Catholic. It will not simply be a time to learn about prayer, but to pray; both privately and communally, spoken and unspoken.

Our aim is to take time to step away from the chaos of daily life to focus more closely on the voice of God who tells us: "Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things you have not known" (Jer. 33:3). Prayer is not simply an aspect to plug into our lives but should be a constant practice and ongoing conversation. The purpose of this retreat is to provide the climate for a deepening of one's prayer life and learning how to listen and follow the Good Shepherd more closely.
