Uniting for Ukraine

I would like to invite you all to ask yourselves a question: What am I doing today for the Ukrainian people?

Uniting for Ukraine is a federal government program created in April of 2022 for Ukrainians fleeing the war in their country. It provides a pathway for Ukrainian refugee families to come to the U.S and stay temporarily for two years.

Given our high parish interest, in partnership with our parish’s Works of Mercy Committee, we are now sponsoring a Ukraine family. Our “Steering Committee” – a core group of 5-8 parish volunteers, with assistance from a much larger supporting cast of parishioners, will lead efforts to meet the needs of our Ukrainian family under this program.

Please join us in welcoming Natalia, Illia (age 16), Nazzar (age 13), and Anya (age 5).

Cash Donation or Gift Cards:
- If you wish to write a check, make it out to St. Joseph and designate “Uniting for Ukraine” in the memo section.
- Gift card suggestions are: Safeway, Walgreens, Ross, Marshalls, Home Goods, Target, Dicks Sporting, Great Clips, Subway, Kohl’s, Papa Murphy’s, Taco Time
- Use a blue or yellow envelope from the giving tree for your gift and place it in the collection basket the next time you come to Mass.

Volunteer:
- Help drive members of the family to appointments, shopping, or invite them to a fun outing with your family. Sign-up sheets are in the Gathering Space.
- Do you live in Renton? Reach out to help Natalia stay informed of school activities, schedules and notifications from the school district.

Donations of Slightly Used Items:
- We would love to gift the family items you are no longer using! Have a bicycle for each family member? Camping equipment? Exercise equipment?
