Good afternoon St. Joseph Parish School Community!

What a night!

I wanted to thank all of you for a successful event yesterday, that was likely different than anything any of us have ever experienced.  I felt like our community was out in full force last night in support of our school.  I was able to follow the YouTube channel throughout the event, and it was so great to see the amount of families who decided to join us virtually.

Yesterday, I spoke about hope, change, and prosperity as central components of the 1920’s.  Well, I think our community embraced those three concepts and ran with them at full speed.  This leads me to say how truly impressed I am by the commitment you all had to our students, teachers, and community.  You helped us fulfill a great purpose yesterday of working toward our mission, for our students, and helping them succeed.

The St. Joseph community had a great auction team of Megan Michalson (Development Director), Tanya Lauckner and Kimberly Griffin (Auction Co-Chairs), and Susan Marshall-Heye (School Website Administrator).  They were also aided in various stages by our incredible Business Manager, Jill Orth.  I want to personally thank and acknowledge them for their design and development of the auction under such unusual circumstances.

Last night, in basically one hour’s time, we as a community were able to raise $52,700 for our Fund-An-Item.  That’s absolutely incredible, and we are truly blessed.  We are still able to take donations for the Fund-An-Item, as that remains open until we reach our total goal of $75,000.  If you have not made a donation to the Fund-An-Item, please consider doing so.  You can also continue to promote the Fund-An-Item to your friends and family via our website:

Over the next few days you will receive an email from our development office regarding item pick-up.  It will be coordinated in such a way to respect social distancing orders.

In 2 Corinthians 9:7 we find these words:  Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion for God loves a cheerful giver.

And, in Proverbs 11:9 we find:  A generous person will prosper, whoever refreshes other will be refreshed.

Thank you again for your generosity, support, and overall kindness.

In His Name,

Wayne Wenzel
