Lent
"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new spirit within me." -Psalm 51:10
Fridays During Lent
Each Friday during Lent, we will hold Stations of the Cross from 7:00-8:00PM at each Church in our parish family. Soup Suppers will be held from 6:00-7:00PM, before Stations of the Cross, at St. Joseph and
Our Lady of Sorrows. Please join us in providing a beautiful opportunity for Friday fellowship.
REGULAR CONFESSION TIMES
ADDITIONAL CONFESSION TIMES
Additional confession times will be offered at two of our three parishes each Friday during Lent. The schedule for each parish is as follows:
fasting & ABSTINENCE
Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal, as well as two smaller meals that together are not equal to a full meal. A person should refrain from eating meat and snacks between meals on these days. The obligation of fasting binds Catholics who are 18-59 years old. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence, when we are asked to refrain from eating meat. The obligation of abstinence applies to those 14 years of age and older.
