WHAT IS A JUBILEE YEAR?

A Jubilee is a special year of prayer which ordinarily takes place every twenty-five years. Jubilees are an ancient Jewish practice and are times for forgiveness, reconciliation, and pilgrimage. The theme of Jubilee 2025 is Pilgrims of Hope, and the faithful are encouraged to participate, either by going on pilgrimage to Rome or in our local archdiocese. Those interested in obtaining the Jubilee Year Indulgence can learn more below.

Proto-Cathedral (Vancouver)

All members of our parish family are invited to join us as we make a second local Jubilee pilgrimage to the Proto-Cathedral in Vancouver on Tuesday, September 2! We plan to carpool to Vancouver, arriving in time to Pray the Rosary at 11:40am and attend the 12:10pm Mass. Following the Mass, the Proto Cathedral Historical Society will give a guided tour. More details coming soon! Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly!

Jubilee Year Indulgence

The faithful can obtain the Jubilee indulgence if, having celebrated the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, they devoutly attend this pilgrimage and there, for a suitable period of time, engage in Eucharistic adoration and meditation, concluding with the Our Father, the Profession of Faith in any legitimate form, and invocations to Mary, the Mother of God.
